✊This Week in the Resistance: March 24-30, 2025✊
Fascists are gonna fascist, but we’re still here, still fighting, and still making their lives miserable.
1. Big Law Claps Back
Trump, in his infinite wisdom (lol), decided to pick a fight with some of the biggest law firms in the country, accusing them of—get this—using the courts to hold him accountable. Perkins Coie, Jenner & Block, and WilmerHale said, “Cool story, bro,” and promptly hit him with lawsuits challenging his unconstitutional nonsense. Judges have already started blocking parts of his latest executive tantrums. Who knew the Constitution could be such an inconvenience for a wannabe dictator?
2. Maine’s Governor Says “Nope”
Trump demanded an apology from Maine’s Governor Janet Mills for daring to have a spine. Instead of groveling, she doubled down and refused to enforce his executive order banning transgender athletes. The best part? She did it with such a “bless your heart” energy that Trump’s ego probably has frostbite. Expect lawsuits, expect drama, and expect Maine to continue being a thorn in his side.
3. Economic Blackout? Check.
On March 28, resistance organizers called for a nationwide spending boycott to hit corporate enablers where it hurts: their wallets. The “Economic Blackout” encouraged people to stop buying anything for 24 hours. Will it cripple the economy? No. But did it piss off the right people? Absolutely. And that’s always a win.
4. Women’s March Keeps Marching
Because apparently, we still have to fight for basic rights (thanks, patriarchy!), women across the country rallied under the “Unite and Resist” banner. Thousands showed up to protest the administration’s attacks on women, DEI policies, and, you know, human decency. Spoiler: We’re not going anywhere.
5. The Courts Keep Throwing Wrenches in Trump’s Plans
Trump’s dream of stripping birthright citizenship, freezing federal grants, and re-rolling civil rights back to the 1950s hit a few snags—like the judicial system. This week, a judge blocked his attempt to transfer transgender women to a men’s prison (because, obviously, that’s cruel). Meanwhile, other courts are taking their sweet time dismantling his nonsense piece by piece. Cue tiny violin for the MAGA tears.
Tomorrow’s To-Do List:
✔️ Keep amplifying wins—momentum matters.
✔️ Support orgs fighting these legal battles (ACLU, Lambda Legal, etc.).
✔️ Remind your reps that we’re still watching them.
Final Thought:
They want us tired. They want us to give up. But here’s the thing—we don’t quit. Stay loud, stay furious, and keep throwing sand in the fascist machine. ✊
