Week 4 Executive Orders

Posted on February 17, 2025June 24, 2025 Dr. Harmony By Dr. Harmony No Comments on Week 4 Executive Orders

Oh look, another week, another batch of executive orders that range from grossly unconstitutional to is he just trolling us at this point? If you thought last week was bad, buckle up—this week, we got attacks on immigrants, schools, and literally facts themselves. Let’s break it down.

1. The “English-Only” Government Order (February 10, 2025)

What it does: Requires all federal agencies to conduct business only in English, eliminating translations for non-English speakers.

Why it’s a problem:

  • Legal: Discriminating against non-English speakers? That’s a Title VI violation right there.
  • Ethical: The U.S. doesn’t even have an official language (shocking, I know). This just hurts immigrants and non-English-speaking communities for no reason.
  • Constitutional: Feels an awful lot like discrimination, which is something the 14th Amendment is supposed to protect against.
2. The “No More Anchor Babies” Policy (February 11, 2025)

What it does: Claims that children born in the U.S. to undocumented parents are not citizens.

Why it’s a problem:

  • Legal: Ever heard of the 14th Amendment? It explicitly says if you’re born here, you’re a citizen. Period.
  • Ethical: This is just another cruel stunt to strip rights from immigrants. We get it.
  • Constitutional: I cannot emphasize this enough: THE 14TH AMENDMENT EXISTS. This is straight-up unconstitutional.
3. Banning “Woke” History in Schools (February 12, 2025)

What it does: Cuts federal funding for schools that teach “radical leftist” versions of history. (Translation: Anything that makes white men look bad.)

Why it’s a problem:

  • Legal: The federal government does not control school curricula. That’s a states’ rights thing (you know, the thing conservatives usually pretend to care about).
  • Ethical: Whitewashing history is how we repeat history. Just ask Germany. Oh wait—they actually teach their history.
  • Constitutional: The First Amendment protects academic freedom. For now.
4. The “America First” Internet Crackdown (February 13, 2025)

What it does: Orders the FCC to restrict access to foreign news sites and promote “American values” in digital content.

Why it’s a problem:

  • Legal: The FCC has zero authority to police internet content like this.
  • Ethical: This is censorship. Full stop. The government should not decide what news you can read.
  • Constitutional: Ever heard of the First Amendment? Because this screams government overreach into free speech.
5. The National Police Force Initiative (February 14, 2025)

What it does: Creates a new federal task force to “assist” local police departments with crime prevention. (Translation: Expands federal policing power.)

Why it’s a problem:

  • Legal: This skirts dangerously close to creating a federal police force, which is not a thing in the U.S.
  • Ethical: Federal law enforcement creeping into local affairs? Sounds real authoritarian to me.
  • Constitutional: The 10th Amendment gives states power over their own law enforcement.
6. Removing Climate Change from Federal Websites (February 15, 2025)

What it does: Orders federal agencies to scrub all references to climate change from government websites and reports.

Why it’s a problem:

  • Legal: This is literally erasing science. The government is supposed to provide accurate public information, not… whatever this is.
  • Ethical: Hiding facts doesn’t make them go away. Climate change isn’t Bigfoot—it’s actually happening.
  • Constitutional: This is less about constitutionality and more about how our great-grandkids will hate us.
7. The “Pro-Life Protection” Order (February 16, 2025)

What it does: Directs federal agencies to stop funding any state or program that allows abortion access.

Why it’s a problem:

  • Legal: Hyde Amendment, anyone? Congress already limits federal funding for abortion. This is just political grandstanding.
  • Ethical: This punishes entire states for protecting reproductive rights. That’s not “pro-life”—that’s pro-control.
  • Constitutional: This could violate states’ rights and the Equal Protection Clause.
Final Thoughts

This week’s executive orders weren’t just unconstitutional—they were cartoonishly evil. Between silencing immigrants, banning history, censoring the internet, and pretending climate change doesn’t exist, Trump is going full authoritarian. At this rate, next week’s orders might just include declaring himself king.

But hey, at least we can still read the news—until they censor that too.
