#61 How to Outlive a Budget Designed to Kill You

Posted on July 3, 2025March 3, 2026 Dr. Harmony By Dr. Harmony No Comments on #61 How to Outlive a Budget Designed to Kill You
Skill Level: 🐾 Intermediate
THE TOOL:

💡 Emergency Mutual Aid Networks
When governments fund detention camps instead of healthcare, and insurance rules block your therapist, we step in for each other. Mutual aid networks are the underground lifelines of every resistance—free meds, rides, food drops, shelter, and more.

WHY IT MATTERS:

The U.S. budget is now a fascist wishlist. From tent cities to Medicare denial schemes, this regime’s priorities are clear: punish the poor, profit off pain, and cage anyone who doesn’t comply. But history shows what fascists hate most: solidarity that bypasses them.

Think of 2020’s protest supply pods. Abortion support hotlines post-Dobbs. Disability mutual-aid forums. Rent strike kitchens. This is the resistance economy—and it saves lives.

🧰 HOW TO BUILD A LOCAL MUTUAL AID NETWORK:
  1. Identify a Need
Is your community lacking food access, transportation, safe housing, childcare, healthcare access, or emergency supplies? Pick ONE to start.
  2. Form a Core Team
Grab 2–5 trusted people. These should be local, privacy-respecting, and committed. Create a private Signal or encrypted chat group.
  3. Use a Low-Key Name
Don’t call it “ANTIFA SQUAD 3000.” Use friendly, non-threatening names like “Free Food Fridays,” “Care Crew,” or “Sunshine Medicine Exchange.”
  4. Gather Supplies or Donations
Tap into Buy Nothing groups, churches, radical bookstores, LGBTQ+ centers, or activist hubs. You’ll find diapers, Narcan, gas cards, canned goods, menstrual products, etc.
  5. Build a Request Form
Use an anonymous Google Form or QR code where people can ask for help without giving away personal info. Example questions:
    • What do you need?
    • Do you need it dropped off?
    • Any allergies or access notes?
  6. Create a Distribution Plan
Weekly drop-offs, mobile pop-ups, porch bins, rideshare setups—whatever works for your people. Stay flexible.
  7. Promote Cautiously
Use word-of-mouth, encrypted chats, flyers, and community bulletin boards. Avoid mass social media posting unless it’s coded or vetted.
  8. Stay Safe
Never collect more data than needed. Keep your list of volunteers and recipients off public servers. Assume fascists are watching. Act accordingly.
  9. Check In and Adapt
Hold quick check-ins with your crew every few weeks. What’s working? What’s risky? What’s needed next?
  10. Link With Other Crews
Use ResistanceDirectory.com to find other pods. Share resources, tips, and support. Build the web, not the ladder.
🐾 Example in Action:

The “Sunshine Aid Drop” in Cincinnati now serves over 300 elders and low-income families with meds, fresh food, and transit rides—all run by five badass queers, one minivan, and zero government involvement. That’s resistance.

👊 Final Kitty Claw Swipe:

You don’t need a permit to save lives. You don’t need a nonprofit, a logo, or permission from a government that funds death camps. You just need each other—and the guts to start small.

Meow is the moment. Let’s outcare the fascists.
