#57 How to Sabotage a Prison Build with Reviews, Boycotts, and Local Uproar

WHAT’S HAPPENING:

Florida just broke ground on its newest dystopian venture: a mega-prison and migrant detention camp—nicknamed Florida’s Alcatraz. Built with the same heartless zeal as a sci-fi villain origin story, this facility is not only a human rights nightmare, it’s being fast-tracked with help from private contractors who see dollar signs in cages.

One of those profiteers? USTentRental.com — yes, they’re literally supplying the tents for Florida’s future internment complex.

WHY THIS MATTERS:

History doesn’t repeat, but it rhymes—and this one’s screaming in goose-step. Facilities like this don’t just happen overnight; they get built because nobody raised hell soon enough. Your voice, your reviews, your organizing—these are frontline tools of disruption. Corporations don’t care about morality, but they do care about brand damage and public exposure.

REAL WORLD EXAMPLE:

During the Trump years, public pressure and mass protests forced dozens of companies to sever ties with ICE. Airlines, banks, universities—even catering services backed out of deportation deals once the spotlight hit them. Bad PR works. Reviews work. Boycotts work. Especially when they go viral.

HOW TO FIGHT BACK (STEP-BY-STEP)
  1. đŸ”„ Find the Suppliers
Start with the obvious one: USTentRental.com. Dig into who else is on the contractor list—security firms, construction companies, catering vendors. Public records and local reporting often reveal procurement deals. FOIA if you must.
  2. 🛑 Leave Strategic Reviews
Visit review sites like Google, Yelp, TrustPilot, and leave calm, clear, factual one-star reviews: “Supplying infrastructure to Florida’s illegal migrant prison camps. Morally bankrupt and dangerous to our democracy.”
  3. 📣 Go Local
Find their office location and alert the community. Are they sponsoring events? Working with schools? Let people know. The goal: make support for fascism inconvenient and uncomfortable.
  4. đŸ§” Make It Trend
Post about it. Tag @resistancekitty and use hashtags like #BoycottUSTentRental and #NoNewPrisons. Link the Resistance Directory for people looking for alternatives.
  5. đŸ–€ Buy from Resisters, Not Fascists
For example: the R-Gear unisex “R” dark-style protest tee. Look fierce while taking a stand.
  6. đŸ—ș Organize Offline Too
Stage a protest at their local office. Write op-eds. Table at local markets. Shame works when it’s loud, local, and relentless.
Kitty’s Final Purr:

Prisons don’t build themselves. Every bolt, tent, and porta-potty has a profiteer attached to it—and every one of those can be exposed, protested, and shut down. If they’re building cages, we’re building resistance. So boycott, blow the whistle, and make damn sure every tent comes with a PR firestorm.
