🐾 Shutdowns, Firings, and Fascist Freakouts
Congress is playing chicken with our rent money again. The GOP tried ramming through a stopgap bill stuffed with poison pills, Senate Dems batted it down, and now Trump’s budget office is sharpening its guillotine—this time threatening permanent firings instead of the usual furloughs. Meanwhile, Hakeem Jeffries is standing firm that any healthcare fix has to be ironclad law, not a “we pinky swear” napkin note.
In the courts, Trump got smacked down in Cook v. Trump, where a judge said “nope” to his attempt to fire Fed Governor Lisa Cook for cause—reminding us that maybe, just maybe, not every branch is Trump’s chew toy.
Out on the fascist streets, the assassination of Charlie Kirk gave Trump the excuse he wanted to brand “Antifa” as terrorists. Sprinkle in a Dallas ICE facility shooting and suddenly he’s blaming Democrats for everything short of cloudy weather. Oh, and his goons dismantled the White House Peace Vigil—because nothing says “law and order” like bulldozing free speech.
And while our democracy is wobbling, Trump is cuddling up to Erdogan at the White House and blowing Venezuelan boats out of the water. Sleep tight, America—your tax dollars are busy destabilizing the globe.
