#41 How to Build a Mobile Mutual Aid Cart That Rolls Through Oppression Like a Tank

Posted on June 5, 2025March 3, 2026 Dr. Harmony By Dr. Harmony No Comments on #41 How to Build a Mobile Mutual Aid Cart That Rolls Through Oppression Like a Tank

Why wait for the people to come to the aid when you can roll it right into their neighborhood? A Mobile Mutual Aid Cart is part pantry, part med station, part community check-in booth — and 100% powered by resistance, not NGOs.

Whether you’re serving snacks at a protest, handing out Narcan in your neighborhood, or bringing socks and water to unhoused neighbors, this cart is your mobile defiance unit.

🛞 How to Build a Mobile Mutual Aid Cart Like a Resistance Pro

1. Get a Cart or Build One
  • Start with what you’ve got:
    🔹 A rolling cooler
    🔹 An old stroller
    🔹 A milk crate on a dolly
    🔹 A bike trailer
  • Want to go big? Build your own out of wood, PVC, or salvaged furniture. Bonus points if it has hidden compartments.
2. Stock It Like You Mean It
  • Fill it with what your community actually needs. Examples:
    🔹 Water bottles
    🔹 Snacks & fruit
🔹 Hygiene kits (toothbrushes, pads, wipes)
🔹 First aid basics + Narcan
    🔹 COVID masks
🔹 Phone charging station (solar panels if you’re fancy)
🔹 Zines, protest guides, and QR codes to local aid networks
3. Make It Anonymous and Untraceable
  • No QR codes that track people. No signs that scream your name.
  • Label it with something like: “FREE AID. NO QUESTIONS.”
  • Paint over logos. Leave no org trail unless you’re fine being targeted.
4. Train Your Crew
  • Have 2–3 people ready to run the cart: one for supplies, one for safety, one for talking to people.
  • Practice de-escalation, consent-based aid, and street medic basics.
  • Know your rights—especially if you’re in a city with hostile police or anti-homeless laws.
5. Pick Strategic Drop Zones
  • Go where traditional aid doesn’t: protest zones, evicted neighborhoods, bus stops, tent cities.
  • Move often. Change routes. Keep a low profile but high impact.
  • Announce your presence quietly (chalk, flyers, word of mouth).
6. Stay Safe and Respectful
  • Never photograph people receiving aid without consent.
  • Keep conversations private and judgment-free.
  • If cops show up, de-escalate, disperse, regroup. Don’t try to be a hero alone.
7. Document the Impact — Carefully
  • Track what’s working, what’s needed, and what you run out of.
  • Share anonymized stories or photos (just the cart!) to inspire others.
  • Keep an encrypted list of supply needs and donations if you’re running a mutual aid loop.
Today’s To-Do List:
  • 🛒 Find or salvage a cart and get your wheels rolling
  • 🧼 Assemble 10 hygiene kits and stash them in a go-bag
  • 🚲 Map out 2 safe, high-impact spots to serve in your area this week
  • ❌ Boycott: Walgreens (they’ve been slashing aid to poor communities while funding GOP candidates)
  • 🪧 Event: Mutual Aid Skills Share at Into Action Library
Resistance Kitty says:

If they won’t come to the people, we’ll roll it straight to them—with snacks, tampons, and a healthy dose of defiance. Let your cart clatter louder than their campaign ads. Meow means move.
