Last night, at the stroke of midnight (because subtlety is dead), House Republicans jammed through a $1.2 trillion budget bill that basically gave the Heritage Foundation a wet dream and handed your rights to the nearest authoritarian think tank.
Let’s review the carnage.

- Midnight Budget Backstab
The House passed a budget that slashes education, guts climate programs, expands border militarization, and funnels even more money to fossil fuels and religious “freedom” enforcement. Oh, and surprise: it kneecaps the DOJ’s ability to investigate Trump. Total coincidence, we’re sure. - Executive Orders Galore
Trump signed three EOs yesterday:- Reinstating the National Guard at “high-risk” polling sites — code for suppressing Black and Brown voters.
- A gag order on federal employees discussing “critical race theory, reproductive healthcare, or border policy” — yeah, that’s definitely legal (it’s not).
- A loyalty pledge requirement for federal employees — straight out of the Dictatorship Starter Kit™.
- SCOTUS Non-Ruling Mayhem
The Supreme Court declined to fast-track a challenge to Trump’s gag order trial delay, which means the March 4th federal election interference trial may not happen at all. Delay is the strategy, and so far, it’s working.
