Good morning, kittens. The blue confetti has barely stopped falling and the MAGA blame blender is already set to purée. Democrats are hiring investigators, planning subpoenas and circling DHS, Jared Kushner, Elon Musk and the Justice Department, while Trump responds with Communism Week and a press release that reads like an angry Facebook uncle found the official letterhead.

Daily Shit Show Recap
- Nightfire warns that enormous stores of personal data can become surveillance honeypots for governments, corporations and hackers. Convenience is lovely until the toaster knows where you sleep.
- Erin in the Morning reports that Ron DeSantis blamed Republican losses partly on the fortune spent attacking transgender people. Apparently cruelty remains expensive even when voters refuse to purchase it.
- The Punch Up reports that Kristi Noem claimed the Trump administration lost because it was too successful. Democrats answered by inviting her to repeat that delightful little fantasy under oath.
- Sludge follows the money supporting Hakeem Jeffries, including executives connected to defense, surveillance, cryptocurrency and Wall Street interests. New leadership deserves celebration, kittens, but the donor receipts still require inspection.
- Project Salt Box reports that Democrats are already hiring investigators as control of Congress places Homeland Security under new scrutiny. The incoming committee chairs appear to be shopping for subpoenas in bulk.
- Marc Elias warns that the election victory begins a dangerous period in which Trump may intensify attacks on voting and lawful results. Celebrate the win, but keep the legal claws extended.
- The White House proclaimed Anti Communism Week while warning that socialism and the radical left threaten America. Losing an election and immediately declaring an ideology week is perfectly normal behavior from a perfectly stable government.
- The White House responded to the Republican defeat with partisan attacks, sweeping self praise and promises that Democratic oversight will fail. Nothing projects confidence like an official tantrum printed on presidential stationery.
- The Daily Beast reports that a MAGA civil war erupted after the electoral wipeout, with Trump allies attacking one another and Trump taking shots at Fox News. The rats have begun blaming the ship for all the water.
- Salty Politics examines how the Democratic victory in Texas could bring new scrutiny to Elon Musk, his political spending and his companies. His Lone Star sanctuary suddenly has subpoenas growing in the garden.
- Michael Popok reports that House Democrats are preparing Justice Department oversight hearings involving Attorney General Todd Blanche. The department spent two years demanding answers from everyone else, and now the question chair has its name on it.
- Brian Tyler Cohen reports another Democratic victory that emerged after Election Day. The blue wave apparently had bonus content, because even democracy enjoys an encore.
- Popular Information explains how Congress can subpoena Jared Kushner, Affinity Partners and associated businesses over his foreign policy role and financial relationships. Calling yourself a volunteer becomes less adorable when the committee asks for the bank records.
- Tara Palmeri reports that Trump is searching for someone to blame while Republican insiders privately hold him responsible. The first commandment of MAGA remains that Donald is never responsible for the fire he started while holding the gasoline.
- C. M. Armitage alleges serious disclosure and recusal problems involving Chief Justice John Roberts and his wife’s legal recruiting income. The author says a disciplinary complaint is being filed, while the underlying claims still require formal investigation.
- The Punch Up found that Trump aligned groups spent more than $50 million supporting seven Republican candidates who quietly reduced his presence in their campaigns. They wanted Daddy’s wallet without putting Daddy in the family photo.
Final Kitty Thoughts
Enjoy the victory, kittens, but do not confuse winning power with using it. The next Congress must investigate carefully, subpoena aggressively and show every receipt, because these fuckers are not going to hold themselves accountable and the blame circus is only the opening act. I am still following the election results and posting them on socials as they come in.
